the secret dreamworld of a shopaholic
i love wednesdays. we end at 12noon, which means that we get half the day off to do the things that we love. for me, it just means indulging in retail therapy. i must clarify though, that joan and i went to doncaster today for educational purposes. she had her GP site visit today at devon road in doncaster, and i was supposed to tag along to find out how to get there for my site visit come next month. however, thanks to joan's reccomendation of shopping places in doncaster, i ended up shopping (again!) at westfield shopping town. westfield is a really great place for sussing out amazing bargains. they have myer, jayjays, valleygirl, laura ashley, supre, and this kickass shoe shop (forgot the name) which sells the loveliest ballerina flats. i spent 3 hours there and i stillstillstill cannot get enough of it. my massive haul of purchases included bomber jackets, tees, tanktops and skirts :) and yes, i am feeling sososo guilty.

with joan on board bus 733.. to boxhill.

joan says this looks like the magic schoolbus.

my nice new furry pink bomber jacket! :)

trying out my tweed skirt in my messymessy room.

one last thing. last but not least.
the reason why i seem to be so happy these days.

thanks for the chocolate.. ilu*

sex & the uni.
today during tute we had the most interesting class ever! we got to play with condoms & a nice purple banana-penis.. so instead of nodding off in class (as i always do on a monday afternoon), i was very wide awake this time.

a condom & a bananaaaa.

steps on putting on a condom.. self explanatory! :)

erm i hope no one is offended here.. it's NOT porn. it's sex education. think of this as something for the greater good of all those with promiscuous tendencies.. heh.

erm. i look a bit too happy here.. owells but i am. :)))

posinggg. trying to look like a proper doctor :)

walking back home. i am so totally in lurvve with my lilac flats :))))

to sum it all up, today was just a wonderful day.. thank you Lord! i was just in a really good mood (which is weird for a monday), maybe because kj brought back a truckload of goodies from singapore, including bak kwa, savoury cuttlefish & konniyaku jelly.. delishhh. plus dear sher came back from tasssie and she also bought me chocolate...! :) to top it all off, i also went for some jogging therapy and it was just lovelyyy.

ohh happy day!!!

a day at the glen!
glen is boring but they have value-for-money authentic honkytonk yumcha, and being unmistakable foodies, we got up bright and (not so) early on a sunday and trooped there in search of ambrosia.

thereafter we went to shop at glen centro, which, sadly, has a lack of nice shops.

with kr in some shop. i lurrrve those retrosunglasses, even though i look bad in them.

why i love going to the supermarket:
double the fun with half the fat!

if something lowfat & yummy exists, it has to be a smoothie.

icecream that's nice to look at and nice to savour!

i am, without a doubt, absolutely gaga over this icecream array.

chapel street
hanging out at chapel st. on friday night was a weird experience. it was funny cos we wanted to go to this bar called chapeliz but dear jereme saw the sign wrongly and we parked and found out that he saw chapelino (a sandwich/coffee joint) instead of chapeliz. well done. so we walked for what seemed like 20 minutes to chapeliz but couldn't find it so in the end someone suggested 'why don't we just cross the road and go to the bar opposite the street?', which we did. and ended up at the place called angel-something (i can't remember exactly.) the funny part is that the music was good but we didn't dance. all the old fogeys were on the dancefloor.. chatting with one another. so we got a table and hung out and played some stupid finger guessing game where you had to down a shot glass of beer if you lost. and i think i must've lost 10 times or more. by the time the game ended i think i was red and flushing, not to mention a bit dazed. i must really suck cos i think beer is only like 4.6% alcohol. the worst part was when we ran outta beer and mixed beer with hot chocolate (complete with marshmallows) plus some salt?! and i tell you it was one of the most disgusting concoctions i have ever tasted. we also went to look at this place called Strike - it's a bowling bar and it's ubercool. imagine a bowling alley set in the middle of a bar plus UV lighting lining the lanes and glow in the dark bowling balls.. what a concept! chapel st. also has fantastic shopping.. like dangerfield, supre, esprit, kookai, fcuk and loads more man.. i should really visit chapel st. in the day.
christine & i.. acting spaz.

nick & i on the way back.

exam nerves
it feels weird to have an exam this wednesday when the last exam i ever had was back in 2003. i really should be mugging my ass off but somehow i just had this sudden compulsion to blog. i used to be so disciplined, so focussed when it came to academia but now i think i've lost that momentum. i think i need to re-adjust my mindset. i need to stop making studying the focal point of uni, and my life, for that matter. i mean, i came to uni to study, but i'm sure there's more to uni than cooping myself in my dingy little room and poring over medical ethics. i'm sure there's more to uni than staying up late and nearly going blind just to read prescribed readings in pdf format. i'm sure there's so much more meaning to uni than academia.. but i just haven't discovered it yet.

i want to go shopping! i want to watch the entire season of desperate housewives! i want to bake a cheesecake! i want to eat dimsum! but i guess i can only do all these after wednesday. dammmmmn.

here we go again.
because change is good, i decided to start afresh. it basically means 'i am sick of the old blog so here is yet another short-lived attempt to spice things up!'
for the unintiated, here is a very brief description of myself.
i am a girl from singapore.
i am doing med in australia.
i would say that i am pretty much blessed.

for the friends:
here's what i've been up to:
last week: went for easter camp, which was a blast! made tonnes of new friends, got to know God better, got my name made fun of (i'm sure it will remain immortalised-- thanks Ronny) during 'mafia' games at 4am in the morning, freezed my butt off at campaspe downs and learnt how to catch a frisbee.
this week: tried to do some reading/catch up on last week's stuff but to no avail. ended up downloading movies & countless episodes of 'whose line is it anyway' to savour. played basketball and frisbee and bought a mountainload of snacks to feast on while watching my treasure trove of downloaded shows.
today: went for the 9am church service, which was a bad idea because jem fell asleep in the most unglam way with his mouth wide open. and nick actually proudly snapped 2 photos of sleeping jem with his camera phone and nearly made me laugh out loud during the sermon. went for yumcha at burwood with nick, jem & robin after church, which was reallyreally good, not because they had wonderful eggtarts & cheecheongfun but because we had so much fun discussing what business to set up(because robin wants to buy a honda without using his parents' dough.) i love yumcha because i love authentic asian food; and the wonderful company that goes along with it just makes the experience divine.
tomorrow: end of easter break, school starts again and i am so screwed because i haven't done any work.
